International patients may need orthopedic care because of travel accidents, sports injuries, falls, chronic joint pain, or second opinions before or after surgery. Orthopedic departments in major hospitals often provide imaging, diagnosis, outpatient treatment, surgery evaluation, and rehabilitation recommendations.

Important Notes for International Patients

Minor sprains or simple injuries may be handled through outpatient visits. More serious injuries may require X-rays, CT, MRI, or emergency orthopedic evaluation. Surgery may require pre-operative testing, hospitalization, and post-operative follow-up. For planned orthopedic surgery, patients should prepare enough time in China for consultation, examination, surgery, recovery, and follow-up. Some procedures may require weeks or months of rehabilitation.
